Marilyn “Jean” Sharpe, 70, Olney, IL formerly of Oblong, IL passed away at 1:44 A.M. on Thursday November 17, 2016 at Burgin Manor in Olney, IL.
CELEBRATION OF JEAN’S LIFE SERVICE will be at 2:30P.M. Sunday November 20, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, Il. Burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery rural Oblong.
VISITATION will be from 1:00-2:30 P.M. on Sunday November 20, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL.
Jean was born on April 24, 1946 in Hamburg, IL to George Shea and Rosa Lee (Laird) Shea. On September 27, 1988 in Baltimore, MD she married Benjamin Thomas Sharpe who preceded her in death on May 18, 1997.
Jean was a waitress from 1970 to 1997 working at the White Coffee Pot in Baltimore, MD. Jean attended the Alleghany Wesleyan Methodist Church of Oblong, IL and also attended Oblong Schools. Jean enjoyed bowling and playing golf with her husband. Jean’s family and her dogs meant everything to her.
Jean is survived by two sons; James Gleason Pritts Jr., Cleveland, TN and Brian Keith Shea, Baltimore, MD; one brother Rollin David Shea, South Roxana, IL , one sister Fern Scheidegger, Pinellas Park, FL and sister-in-law Rita Shea, Griffith, IN. Jean is also survived by several grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and sister-in-law Richard and Edith Shea and Frank Shea, one sister and brother-in-law Imogene and Junior Sloan and two brothers-in-law Basil Vail and William “Bill” Scheidegger.
